K-Leather AI Collective: Leather Innovation is a forward-looking design initiative featuring six experimental projects by the Department of Textile Art and Fashion Design at Hongik University, South Korea. Uniting emerging designers with academic research, the project explores how traditional leather craftsmanship can evolve through digital tools, material experimentation, and contemporary design thinking.

Positioning leather as a progressive medium, the initiative connects heritage, technology, and responsible making, with innovation as a key driver.

 

Presented at LINEAPELLE New York, the collective reflects a shared commitment to nurturing young talent and advancing sustainable innovation, demonstrating how heritage materials can be reimagined through bold perspectives and new design languages.
